the next generation has arrived! the baby is smaller than my poodle, but larger than the whippet.i didn't know the across-the-street neighbors had guests! maa, maa! wait up! (sorry, i'll get better at action photog, but this was too cute to not post!)
You managed to get some great pics of the naughty visitors :) That last picture really is cute. I'm glad you didn't leave it out. It's too bad the deer aren't compatible with gardens :)
kerri and YE, thanks for the comments. so far the deer are not coming in my yard, but once the lilies are ready to bloom, they will be back.
sis, since there is no hunting in our densely populated area, the deer are not afraid of people or houses. let me assure you that my neighbor hates the deer and would not dream of feeding them. usually, the deer will let you get within about 5 feet! with the fawns, they are only a bit more jittery! these two were about 10 feet from me when i shot this, but they were moving away. some people tell me the deer will come right onto their decks to eat the container plants!

Awwwwwwwww, Bambi! So cute! Can you tell that my garden is not bothered by deer at all? ;-) Great pics, thanks for sharing!
It looks like your neighbors are hand feeding them to get them so close to the steps.
