PAST PEAK

what a beautiful day it was today! i've got a mishmash of photos, as this is such an in-between season. below is the tulip tree reflected in the bird bath...and tulip trees in front of a nice sunset today...
i started working on the holiday lights in the potager... what do you think so far?
view from the kitchen window...
see what i found while was working on the potager? it's been so warm that my bulbs are up already! these leaf tips will likely get frost burn...
the bald cypress has almost turned rusty red... we usually have our first snow when it's all red...
the school fields fenced by weedy norway maples across the street...
hope you had a warm day too!

Yes, warm day here too !
And so many reports of unseasonal sprouting everywhere. Lol ! Will ya look at that bulb, HA ! This Fall heat wave is really doing a number on the plants.
The reflection shot is just amazing. The lack of definition makes it mysteriously beautiful and enchanting (and hard to tell it's your bird bath !).
I see there's still plenty of color in your world, including your pretty xmas lights. Diggin' 'em ! :D

Hi Em, I agree with Sophie on your images! Love the holiday lights in your potager, very pretty.

BTW I am amazed by the temperatures you are experiencing at this time of year. Here it's around 10 to 15 C which is quite warm-ish.

Hi Em! I had the pleasure of meeting your brother, Mike, at our daylily meeting a few weeks ago and he passed along your blog link!

I'm too in zone 6 (central NJ) and the weather has been perfect! Love your photos...will be back for further reading ;)

Haven't we had some gorgeous weather? But its pouring rain here tonight. That will nicely water the bulbs I've put in.
How beautiful the tulip tree reflection is, and the sunset, and those lovely autumn tones....wonderful photos, all!
What a great idea to light up the potager with Christmas lights. You're brilliant, Em! :)
