DENISON & IRENE

busy week...
we drove to ohio and back to take our daughter to college...

the freshman induction ceremony was beautiful...

then home to prep for hurricane irene, which included cutting some flowers...
thankfully for us, after 8" of rain and much wind (still blowing) we still have power. others in my family are without power...

What a pretty bouquet.

Glad you didn't have any damages from Irene, just wind and rain, and that you still have power. We went through Wilma in 2005 and were without power for 13 days.

Hi Em,
I am pleased that you have endured this one without too severe damage and you still have power.
glad you gathered some blooms before it came on... great pics...and hope your daughter is having a great time...working hard of course!
take care,

That's a lot of rain! We had about 5 inches and the creek below our house flooded the road briefly.
We lost power for about 5 hours.
Glad you kept yours.
I cut flowers too :) Your little bouquet is so pretty. My anemones are blooming beautifully. They're bee magnets!
I hope you're not feeling too sad about the empty nest. It's quite a change when the kids go off into the world. The good part will be her visits home. This is when kids realize how much they appreciate their parents :)
Sending a hug.
