Wow, Em, these photos are fantastic and so much fun! What a delight it must've been to watch this display of the sparrows enjoying their bath so much. You've captured the joy of it all beautifully.
Mr. Finch is a handsome fellow and looks quite proud of himself :)
The potager is pretty in its autumn colors.

Thanks for answering my question about the beets and parsnip. Lucky you to have a hubby who cooks!
We gave that pile of slab wood away. We have plenty of seasoned wood cut and piled for the furnace. The pile is huge!
Let's hope the prediction for a not very snowy winter is accurate, and yes, I too am already dreaming of next year's garden :)

browsing this morning led me here. I love that finch in your first photo. Quite unlike ours here in Scotland. I love to watch the birds bathing too. As for your Potager - nice layout.
