MAY - GETTING SICK OF FLOWERS YET?

no way, right?!? never! here's a tree peony unfurling...white cercis (redbud) blooming agains river birch bark...
dogwood doing it's thing... pink and purple trees are a bit whimsical, yes?
in the woodland garden, epimedium bandit
and omphalodes...
strawberry 'lipstick'...
the fothergillia my brother gave me finally bloomed!
close up of white cercis... this is what i love about it, the flowers springing from the bark!
here's cercis in the north garden...
the new garden at the front of our house needs more plants; note deer damage to the yews.
watering the emerging potager...
luna hangs out by the square garden...
joe joe poses at the south side of the house.  i removed two languishing hollies from in front of the unsightly retaining wall, and put a white lilac there.

Sick of flowers?! Never!!!!!

Lovely post Em, love the cercis especially and I enjoyed my little walk around your garden. Your veg garden looks great, how are things progressing there? You've seen my berries and other fruit, how about showing me yours? ;-)

Sick of flowers? I should say not! They're just beginning! Isn't it wonderful to see things blooming again? We saw fabulous magnolias, redbuds and more on our trip to Rochester last weekend, and our son and DIL have a glorious weeping cherry.
I love those epimediums! We just planted a double white lilac. Looks like it'll be a good year for lilacs. Our bushes are about to burst into bloom, and the crabapple blossoms are opening.
Our dogwood is still small. No blooms yet, but at least it survived the winter!
The fothergillia is fascinating.

kerri, thanks for your always generous comments! this is my favorite time of year, and i hope we both have many mays ahead of us. it's funny, we planted a double white lilac too! it's not going to flower this year, thought.
