near the south fence is a purple butterfly bush and a mess of verbena bonariensis. lulled by the afternoon sun and nectar of bright purple flowers, the local fauna is ready for its close-up... tiger swallowtail...a faded admiral... bee... golden skipper... green-striped spider...
Your photos are spectacular...including all the photos below that I haven't commented on. It's not easy getting these visitors to stay still long enough for a good photo. You do so well with that macro lens. The golden skipper looks apologetic :)

I love butterflies! Beautiful photos!
The calf was 40 minutes old when it started nursing! She was born just before noon and was nursing 12.35 pm.
Great pics, that tigerswallowtail is gorgeous. It is fun, isn't it when so many insects come to drink at the nectar bar. ;-)
