MEMORIAL DAY AT GF

azalea kurame 'dogwood variegated' blooming...the flowers have large variation...
on a small shrub, sitting right on the curb, so this azalea has survived much salt...
the potager is coming along, though many pests are making growing difficult... not the foxglove my brother gave me last year blooming in the upper right hand corner...
yesterday, i harvested a cabbage from last year, which had finally formed a head. it was delicious!
rose 'heritage' with dew...
allium 'schubertii' is fully globular...
fireworks for memorial day!
clematis 'roguchi' looks prim and proper in comparison...

  1. Your Azalea is gorgeous, they don't grow in my garden as I do not have the right soil for them. Your potager is looking good and what fun that you were finally able to harvest and munch that cabbage. Everything you grow yourself tastes much better, don't you think? ;-)

BTW Love that Clematis, how very pretty it is.

  2. Em, your blooms and photos are always spectacular ! What an eyeful every time. :)

Nice cabbage ! The potager is looking fab as always. After 6 weekends hard graft digging out the new layout (and cutting down a tree), I've now decided (last weekend) to switch everything around. The veggies are going where the back border used to be and I'm going potager ! (Hope you don't mind ;)) Thx for the inspiration ! :)

    Love that clem !

  4. Hello Em!
How did you cook the cabbage... fresh from the garden must surely be wonderful!

The potager is looking impressive even if you are having a really annoying lot of little visitors ... we cant see that so we're just in awe!

That last little flowere remind me of those hair styles that kick up at shoulder length and are so coy and so 50's(?)

Looks like you are having lovely days over there. well I reckon you deserve every one of them.
    Have great week...

ps maybe a trip to South Africa Em? Did you ever see Monty Don's around the world in 80 gardens. I remember the South African ones were amazing!

Sorry I'm late catching up! Oranges and Lemons rose is plenty hardy here in zone 5b/6a. Japanese beetles love it, but then again they love all my roses. That is a fabulous azalea. Did you see mine from Valentine's Day? Have no idea what variety it is, and likely won't survive the winter since it's a hothouse variety.
