i know that all flower photos are just pornography, so in that vein, here is the seed head left by the southern evergreen magnolia flower. oh, also, i'm jazzed because my passion flowers have bourne fruit for the first time. i'll take a picture when they are ripe.

one of my brother's friends, Mark McDonough, is breeding alliums for new colors. my brother gave me two of the early plants. here is one, which is a dusky canteloupe color, as it opens. i like alliums just as they open more than when they are fully blooming. this little umbel is about 2 inches long. my brother gave me this evergreen southern magnolia last year, as it was not thriving in his New England garden. it had one flower last week!

This arisaema is also blooming...

i planted this bald cypress about 9 years ago, and now it is almost 20 feet tall! It has feathery leaves like a redwood, and is everyone's favorite tree. On the right of the cypress is the silverbell tree.

i transplanted rose "dainty bess" last year, and now she is struggling. i still think she has the prettiest flowers, which are almost 3" across.

this arisaema is graced with two flowers this year. i'll be posting more than one picture of it, you can be assured!
