yesterday was our town's memorial day parade. elmsford brought their ladder truck to hoist the flag over the parade.
our fire chief invited service people in nyc for fleet week and we were rewarded by the attendance of marines,
sailors,
and coast guard cadets!
other marchers included a natty drum major...
veterans...
more veterans...
neighboring town musicians...
girl scouts...
and our volunteer fire department.
i did not march as i was on stand-by with the ambulance.
our current chief, who was nice enough to smile for me.
our old hand fire truck...
4 star rear admiral jim alexander, who brought the service people to our parade.
brazilian coalition forces also attended.
happy memorial day!
You're lucky! I stopped going to our 'Memorial Day' parade years ago since it never had any veterans. Just phalanxes of police. Instead, I use the opportunity to speed around town.
