MOCKING BIRD SHOWER

my favorite tulip this year - fokker fan fan. for me, the slim, graceful, lily-shaped tulips are the the most beautiful.
another view of the potager...
this is a really dark purple tulip, but some how these dark colors are hard to photograph... this one is curly sue...
i do like these fringed ones, this is hamilton...
these are the same professor rontgens from last week, lit by the afternoon sun on the mantel...
tree peony... i apologize for this technically poor photo, but i liked the composition...
here's a close-up of the tree peony...
epimedium 'bandit,' perhaps the cutest thing in the shade garden...
variegated solomon's seal lined up in the shade garden, with red epimediums on the left...
we've had a dry april, until today... so on friday, when i watered, two mocking birds enjoyed a shower...
humph! can't you see i'm bathing, gf?
shake a tail feather!
it's april, so gardeners and mocking birds must bid you adieu...

  2. Wow Em....
I have never seen a mocking bird before!
Top marks for the new header and great colour of your title.I should not say Top Marks...every week you stun us with something memorable for a header!
"Can I come over to your house to play?" she says in jest but not insincerely!
Curly Sue is my pick today.... and elegant beauty half hiding her showiness. the way you photographed it so it merges into the soft green back ground is all the more effective.
    Now, about that mockingbird song...

Peonies already? I don't think I'll get any on my two tiny peony plants this summer, but just you wait till next year! I have to laugh at you saying my goldfinch photo was taken at a great angle. It was the only view available! I didn't want to spook him, and I had to zoom in, so that's all I could get. Thanks though! We see goldfinches daily, luckily.

msrobin, they are just the tree peonies, the regular ones won't bloom for a while. thanks for the visit! i really like the gold finch at that angle because you don't see the cute underbellies much!

connie, yup, orange, me too! thanks for the visit!
