yesterday, i went to the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx to see KIKU: the art of the Japanese Chrysanthemum. it was cold, but the displays were impressive.above: ozukuri, or 'thousand bloom'

camellia japonica 'april dawn' has begun to bloom for the first time.

yesterday, as i drove back from boston, i had my camera ready in case i could get some leaf color shots. however, clouds from approaching hurricane noel created these dramatic sunsets. i just pointed and shot, without stopping or looking through the lens.
